Xerox Corp. announced late Thursday afternoon the appointment of Kathryn Mikells as executive vice president and chief financial officer. She begins the role May 2.
She replaces Luca Maestri, who left the company at the end of February to assume the role of corporate controller at Apple Inc.
Since April 2012, Mikells, 47, has been CFO of The ADT Corp. As CFO at ADT, Mikells helped guide the firm’s successful transition into an independent publicly traded company following its separation from Tyco.
“Kathy brings to Xerox extensive experience in financial management coupled with broad global business acumen in both services and technology,” said Ursula Burns, Xerox chairman and chief executive officer. “Her demonstrated success in transforming complex business models complements the strengths of Xerox’s management team and will help us further advance our services-led growth initiatives.”
Prior to joining ADT, Mikells held leadership roles at Nalco and UAL Corp., the parent company of United Airlines.
“With more than half of Xerox’s revenue now coming from services, the company’s global growth opportunities are as impressive as its well-respected brand and innovation,” said Mikells. “Xerox is well down its strategic path toward building sustainable value for all its stakeholders. It's a privilege to be part of such a reputable enterprise and to have the opportunity to contribute to Xerox's future success.”
Mikells serves on the board of directors for The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
