Nominees announced for Canandaigua Athena Award

Ten area women have been nominated to receive the Canandaigua Athena Award. Winners are to be announced at a 29th annual awards gala dinner Nov. 15 at Finger Lakes Community College Student Center.

The nominees are:

  • Mary Allhusen, clinical staff nurse, F.F. Thompson Hospital;
  • Marjorie Donhauser, nurse/owner, Donhauser Nursing Service;
  • Mary Green, retired, New York State Police;
  • Ginny Gumaer-Muller, probation supervisor/alternative-to-incarceration, Ontario County Probation Dept.;
  • Peggy Kane, retired educator, Genesee Community College;
  • Lauren Kolb, vice president and business development officer, Genesee Valley Trust Co.;
  • Stephanie Kunes-Mincer, president and CEO, National MS Society, Upstate New York Chapter;
  • Laurie O’Shaughnessy, CEO, Greater Canandaigua Family YMCA;
  • Kathleen Quinn, president, New Perspectives Coaching; and
  • Mary Savastano Cutting, director of Case Management, Thompson Health.

 
The Canandaigua Athena program also is slated to award a Canandaigua Athena Young Professional Leadership Award to an emerging woman leader, age 40 or younger, who demonstrates excellence, creativity and initiative in her business or profession.

The six nominees for the Young Professional Leadership Award are:
 

  • Erica Bapst, owner, Adorn Jewelry & Accessories;
  • Lindsey Dixon-Marianetti, director of development/communications, Greater Canandaigua Family YMCA;
  • Mandy Friend, realtor, Keller Williams Realty Inc. Greater Rochester;
  • Trista Merrill, professor of English-Humanities Department, Finger Lakes Community College;
  • Jessica Nava, senior account manager, Finger Lakes Technologies Group Inc.; and
  • Heidi Solimine, area sales manager, Five Star Bank.
