Lawley unveils private benefits exchange program

Lawley Service Inc., including Lawley Benefits Group LLC in the Rochester market, has introduced an online private benefits exchange for employers to shop for benefits.

Lawley Marketplace is not part of the public exchanges to be created as part of the federal Affordable Care Act, and allows employers and employees to choose health insurance and other benefits that best suit their needs, representatives said in a statement released Tuesday.

The benefits exchange was created to address employer concerns about managing costs and the administrative aspects of providing insurance benefits to their employees, officials said.

“With the advent of the Affordable Care Act, employers are more confused than ever and are looking for ways to better control costs and manage the enrollment process, which can be overwhelming for some small and medium-sized businesses,” said Michael Mancuso, associate partner at Lawley Benefits.

“As a market leader in providing employee benefits, we felt a responsibility to offer an option that allows business owners in the Rochester area to continue to offer their employees a robust benefits package without the administrative headaches.”

Lawley Andolina Verdi LLC in Rochester is an affiliate of the Buffalo-based company.

This is offered through Liazon's Bright Choices exchange, which any group can access through their benefits consultant. Lawley may be private labeling it, but it's the same platform and national broker/consultants will have the same "preferred" pricing.
