May 21, 2013

The Muller Quaker Dairy—the Greek yogurt manufacturing venture between PepsiCo Inc. and the Theo Muller Group—will open June 3, officials announced Tuesday.

A grand opening celebration will be attended by executives including PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi; Theo Muller, owner of the Theo Muller Group; and U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-NY.

The $206 million yogurt manufacturing plant in Batavia, Genesee County will be one of the largest yogurt plants in the country and create over 180 local jobs, officials said.

The 350,000-square-foot facility is on 82 acres in the Geneva Valley Agri-Business Park.
