Agricultural Experiment Station in Geneva gets $4.7M

The New York State Agricultural Experiment Station in Geneva has received $4.7 million through Cornell University to reconstruct 21,000 square feet of greenhouse and research facilities, state officials said.

Research and innovation at the Ontario County site will enhance the agricultural needs of the area’s farmers and growers, officials said.

“Innovations pioneered in these reconstructed state-of-the-art greenhouses will translate into tangible products that have a positive economic impact on New York’s hard-working farmers and put our region at the forefront of agricultural research and development,” station director Tom Burr said in a statement released Thursday.
