Brand Networks adds social strategist, other executives

Brand Networks Inc., a social marketing company based in Boston with the majority of its employees in Rochester, has expanded.

The company has added Aaron Thompson to its Rochester team as a social strategist. Thompson formerly was head of social media marketing for Wegmans Food Markets Inc.

The hiring of Thompson is just part of a companywide expansion for Brand Networks. The company has also has hired two new executives to lead its expansion efforts in New York City and Los Angeles.

Brand Networks has named Paul Falzone as its chief growth officer. Falzone will oversee services offered to clients and partners in Hollywood and Silicon Valley, and lead Brand Networks’ global expansion.

Falzone is a former president of California-based SDI Media, a subtitling and translation provider for the entertainment industry that was sold to private equity firm Elevation Partners in 2007.

Brand Networks has also hired Sean Mahoney, previously a marketing director for Facebook, as vice president of sales.

Mahoney will work out of Brand Networks’ New York City office, while Falzone becomes the company’s first employee in Los Angeles.

Brand Networks was founded in 2007 by CEO Jamie Tedford. The company’s clients include American Express Co., Monster Worldwide Inc. and JetBlue Airways Corp. Founding partner and chief technology officer Mike Garsin heads up the Rochester office.

Garsin said he has hired 33 employees at the Rochester office, including Eastman Kodak Co.’s former chief listening officer Beth Kribs-LaPierre as Brand Networks’ director of social intelligence and analytics.

Brand Networks currently has roughly 65 employees. The company has nine open positions listed on its website, including six in Rochester.
