A provider of employee health management services has recognized companies with Rochester ties among the 72 firms honored as this year’s annual “Healthiest Companies in America.”
Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, Lifetime Healthcare Cos. Inc., Univera Healthcare HMO, MedAmerica Inc., EBS-RMSCO Inc., and O’Brien & Gere Engineers Inc. are among those recognized by Interactive Health.
The Illinois-based Interactive Health honors companies for creating a culture of health by prioritizing employee health through outcomes-based health management programs.
Companies were judged on their health care data with clinical information showing improved employee wellness across an index of key indicators.
Lifetime Healthcare is a non-profit holding company that finances and delivers health care services in Upstate New York. Under the umbrella of Excellus, Lifetime Healthcare includes the Lifetime Medical Group, which runs physician practices in Rochester and Buffalo and the Lifetime Care home care and hospice organization in Rochester. Lifetime also includes the non-profit Univera Healthcare HMO in Erie and Niagara counties.
Also falling under Lifetime healthcare are the for-profit MedAmerica Inc. long-term care insurance company and the for-profit EBS-RMSCO Inc. benefit adviser firm.
O’Brien & Gere has its headquarters in Syracuse and has offices across the country, including downtown Rochester. It ranked 19th on the RBJ’s most recent list of engineering firms.
