Rochester Mayor Thomas Richards has appointed Ann McCormick to the Rochester Joint Schools Construction board, lending McCormick’s legal expertise to the board charged with overseeing the Rochester Schools Modernization Plan.
The modernization plan is a joint effort of the city of Rochester and the Rochester City School District. The $1.2 billion program is meant to update and improve school facilities over a 15-year span. The first phase of the three-phase program will infuse $325 million into the local economy, city officials say, making it the largest public project in Rochester history.
McCormick, who currently serves as general counsel and executive vice president and secretary of Home Properties Inc., will bring considerable experience to the seven-member board, Richards said.
"I believe that Ann McCormick will be a valuable addition to the board as it works to provide state-of-the-art facilities for our children," Richards said. "Ms. McCormick is a long-time city resident with considerable construction contracting and related legal experience."
