Thomas Golisano saw his net worth go up but his ranking go down on the Forbes list of the World’s Billionaires, released this week.

The founder and chairman of Paychex Inc. saw his net worth reach $1.6 billion, the list showed. Though Golisano’s net worth increased by roughly $100 million from last year, he fell 77 spots to No. 931 on the list.

Golisano had dropped more than 20 spots on last year’s list, reaching No. 854.  But in the list of Richest Americans, released last September, Golisano climbed to No. 298 after being at No. 332 in 2011.

The list of the World’s Billionaires was led by Mexican telecommunications mogul Carlos Slim Helu and family, with a net worth of $73 billion. Bill Gates came in No. 2 on the list with a total net worth of $67 billion.

Golisano’s total net worth reached $2 billion in 2007. To see the list, go to
