Wilson buys remaining tickets to avoid Bills blackout

Rochester Business Journal

The Buffalo Bills have escaped a local television blackout for the second time this season as team owner Ralph Wilson Jr. again will buy any remaining tickets for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets.

The proceeds from the purchase of those tickets will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project, Bills president and CEO Russell Brandon said Friday.

Some 3,500 were still available Thursday, and the Bills were granted a 24-hour extension by the National Football League to avoid the blackout.

Wilson bought the remaining tickets to the Oct. 13 game against Cincinnati to prevent a blackout of that game.

The Bills also said injuries will keep receivers Stevie Johnson and Robert Woods out of the lineup Sunday.
