Tourism association opens office here

The New York State Hospitality & Tourism Association has opened a satellite office in Rochester, representatives announced Friday.

Victor Nelson, a former operations manager at the Ramada Inn Geneva Lakefront, is the association’s regional membership manager in Rochester, working out of Greater Rochester Visitors Association Inc. offices at 45 East Ave.

Nelson will implement strategies to build a strong network of association partnerships and oversee membership sales and service efforts across the western region of New York, officials said.
 
The Albany-based NYSHTA is a non-profit trade organization for nearly 1,400-member businesses and individuals in the lodging and attractions industry.
