VisitRochester CEO to retire in August
Donald Jeffries: Running the business of putting on shows
Donald Jeffries has been named president and CEO of the Greater Rochester Visitors Association Inc., effective Jan. 15. He replaces Edward Hall, who retired at the end of August.
GRVA, which markets itself as VisitRochester, worked with Cochran, Cochran & Yale LLC to spearhead a national search for the new CEO.
"Mr. Jeffries has outstanding credentials and will no doubt do an excellent job building upon VisitRochester’s success in attracting and hosting visitors to Monroe County and the surrounding region,” GRVA chairman Craig Curran said in a statement.
In his role at VisitRochester, Jeffries will focus on business growth through convention bookings, tourism marketing and event promotion to visitors. He will spend some time initially working with Hall prior to his departure.
Jeffries currently serves as CEO of the Rochester Broadway Theater League. He owned and operated Dollinger Travel Inc. from 1985 to 1999.
